Dr. Tchouatieu is a medical doctor who graduated from the University of Burundi. In 2002, while still doing his specialization (residency) in Obstetrics and Gynecology, he accepted a job proposal and joined the French Doctors without Borders (Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF)-France) as a field staff physician based in Burundi. Dr. Tchouatieu fulfills his desire to serve mankind on humanitarian basis through his daily work and activities with people suffering in misery and greatly in need.
After two years of service with MSF, it was time for Dr. Tchouatieu to start a family, he needed more stability. He was then recruited by Sanofi as the first representative of the Sonafi group in Burundi. He was responsible for developing the Sonafi’s company brand through unique local activities surprisingly emanating from a pharmaceutical company. Activities such as coordinating the creation of the first medical know how society of the country, thereby marking his first steps in the world of partnerships.
In 2006, Dr. Tchouatieu was transferred to Nairobi where he was in charge of medical coordination for East Africa. He was particularly involved in awareness-raising activities about cancer in Kenya during cancer awareness month. His actions herein mainly involved working with other partners in the private sector and civil society towards achieving the goal.
Since 2010, he is at Sanofi’s Direction of Access to Medicines located in a suburb of Paris, and his focus is on malaria.
Beside his interest in improving the healthcare system in Africa, which in turn would improve the condition of Africans, Dr. Tchouatieu is passionate about soccer and sport in general. On a daily basis he tries to be a better spouse and father of three children.
